SWIFT MAY GET FEDERAL JOB
Acting Governor May Be Up For Postal Service Spot
POSTED: May 10, 2002

BOSTON -- Acting Gov. Jane Swift may have a job lined up for when her term is up Jan. 2.
Swift reportedly is considering a spot on the board that oversees the U.S. Postal Service. The position pays up to $42,000 a year.

If she accepts the appointment, Swift could continue to live in western Massachusetts and spend more time with her three young children.

Friday's Boston Globe says the postal service prospect came up two weeks ago when Swift visited the White House. A Swift spokesman said he could not comment on any job offers the acting governor may be considering.
